Naomi Cook

Naomi completed her PhD in neuropathology at the University of Adelaide with a focus on magnesium and neuropeptides in complex neurological disorders. She then took up a postdoctoral position at the Heart Research Institute in Sydney, where she characterised damage to enzymes by inflammatory oxidants derived from myeloperoxidase. Naomi is now employed as a postdoctoral researcher in the Molecular Epidemiology unit at Uppsala University, where she is carrying out functional genomics studies to investigate candidate genes relevant to the pathophysiology of cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes and obesity.
