For the past ten years, I have been interested in the link between metabolic disturbances, such as obesity and insulin resistance, and the development of subclinical and clinical cardiovascular disease. My research is translational and interdisciplinary, combining methods from the molecular epidemiology field - such as genomic, metabolomic, transcriptomic, epigenomic and proteomic profiling in large population-based studies - with in vivo and in vitro work to reach new insights into the pathophysiology of cardiovascular disease and related conditions, identification of new biomarkers for improved risk prediction, and discovery of novel targets for drug development.

I have recently moved to Stanford University, but still have a lot of ongoing projects at Uppsala University in Uppsala, Sweden.

Please read more about our research here, and feel free to check out our our Ubble webpage to read about one of our latest projects and calculate your Ubble age.
